RUN FOR EDUCATION RAISES MONEY
by H.C.
The Run for Education was a great race! They raised an
enormous amount of money for "Project Graduation" and the PTA. The race is
3 miles long. Each runner received a free t-shirt and food. The top three
runners from WMS were CB, GC, and MS. The Woodstown Middle School Cross
Country Team won "Most Spirited Athletic Team" because they painted their
arms, legs, and faces orange and blue. The Woodstown Middle School STAND
won "Most Spirited School Club." Way to go Woodstown! All runners did a
great job!

MATH-A-THON
by S.C.WMS has recently partaken in the Math-a-Thon to benefit St.
Jude's Children's Hospital. The way it works is that every student receives
a booklet with math problems appropriate for their age group. With the
permission of their parents, the student then tries to find people to pledge
money for every problem that is completed. Please don't go door to door
looking for sponsors! Even though we make no profit, the school's goal is to
reach $8,000. All proceeds will go towards the treatment of children with
cancer at St. Jude's hospitals all around the world. As for the teachers, they are
lending quite the helping hand! Mrs. Delaney, Mrs. Catalano, and Mrs. Vinceguerra,
all math teachers from either the 7th or 8th grade, have pledged a penny for
every correct answer every student in their class has! Let's take a stride toward
saving children with cancer! |
WPSF
SPRING FLING
by SCThe Woodstown-Pilesgrove School Foundation (WPSF) put on a
"Spring Fling" after the Run for Education on April 5th. There was music,
dancing, and great food! Classes from the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Schools
put baskets together that were auctioned off in a Chinese Auction. These
baskets helped to contribute to the success of the event. Over 200 local
residents came to the event and a great time was had by all! Mr. Morgan gave
a SmartBoard presentation and photos from the race earlier that day were
shown on a continuous loop throughout the evening. According to Ms. Martha Champigny, the Corresponding Secretary of WPSF, "The money raised at this
year's event will be utilized to fund unique educational Grant Requests for
programs and/or equipment that are not included in the regular school
budget." |
