About Mrs. O'Brien

     My name is Mrs. O'Brien and I will be your teacher this year. I am very excited about teaching first grade at Mary S. Shoemaker Elementary School. This is my second year teaching at Shoemaker. I taught second and third grade for six years at an elementary school in Philadelphia, PA before coming to Shoemaker. I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Wilmington College in Delaware. I am looking forward to working with you and your children this school year.   • Book Bag (ABSOLUTELY No Trapper Keepers or Loose Leaf Notebooks)

  • 4 -    .77 Elmer Glue Sticks

  • 1 marble composition book

  • A box of 12-14 crayons (please no more)

  • Fiskar scissors - metal ones with colored plastic handles

  • 10 #2 pencils – Sharpened

  • 1 small school box for supplies

  • 2 pocket folders

  • Outdoor Clothing

  • Please label your child’s coat, hat and gloves so that they can be identified in the event they are lost on the playground or in the building. We maintain a Lost and Found box in our center hallway. Please check it periodically for lost items.
