Dear Parents and Community Friends,

The faculty at Mary S. Shoemaker Elementary School would like to extend a warm welcome to those students and parents joining our school community for the first time, and a big we missed you for those returning for a new academic year. Our dedicated staff is excited about this new school year and they look forward to teaching your children.  Our school provides a stable environment for your children to return to each day.  Your children will be exposed to many inventive learning opportunities here at Shoemaker.   We have approximately 500 students, preschool through fourth grade, and provide an educational community where each child learns with confidence.  Our enthusiastic staff enhance the learning opportunities with their creative teaching practices.  We are always striving to meet the needs of each individual learner.  Our energies are focused on providing a school atmosphere that is supportive, innovative, and challenging. 

Our learning community is enhanced through the belief that school is an extension of the home and family, to that end parental involvement is appreciated and encouraged at Shoemaker.  Please join us in helping to make Shoemaker a better environment for your children by becoming involved in our PTA, your children’s class activities and the various programs that you will find listed in this calendar and the newsletters sent home each month

Our faculty and staff want to assure you that we will continue to work earnestly to make sure your children’s learning experiences at Shoemaker will provide them with the skills necessary to become productive, responsible, and well rounded students.
