The Salem County Prosecutor's office is offering a FREE Youth Week this summer.
The DILEA (Diversity in Law Enforcement Academy) program presents simulated law enforcement programs for male and female students who are entering their junior year or entering their senior year of High School.
The week's activities include lectures and presentations covering many facets of police work and criminal justice. Participants will be exposed to a disciplined quasi-military environment, including military drill in combination with structured fast moving programs of classroom activities, lectures, films, practical exercises and physical training, simulating the police recruit training experience.
The program emphasizes courtesy, professionalism, respect and teamwork. Additional presentations will include strategies for anger management, conflict resolution and cultural diversity.
ATTENTION: SENIORS
The Tri-County Midget Football League, Inc. Scholarship is not printed in the list. Applicant must have been a member of the league. The deadline is May15th.
Course Selection 2013-2014
It is course selection time! The guidance department is beginning course selections for the 2013 – 2014 school year. Program of Studies Booklets will be distributed to all students for review. The booklet provides a brief description of all courses offered to grades 9 – 12. The Program of Studies Booklet is available on the Woodstown High School website.
Course Selection Timeline
March - May Counselors meet with students to review course selections and discuss career/college plans
June 10 Deadline for course selection changes (Forms available in guidance, Ms. Jenkins)
Schedule Changes:
¨ There will be no schedule changes made in the summer.
¨ Much emphasis is placed on the importance of educational planning.
¨ There should be little need to change a schedule after the initial selection of courses.
¨ The only notable exception to this would be a change necessitated by the completion of courses in summer school or failure to complete designated prerequisites.
Drop/Add Procedures:
There will be no course selection changes after June 10th.
There will be no schedule changes in the summer or fall with the following exceptions: ¨ A clerical error. ¨ A course was omitted.
¨ There is a desire to add a course in lieu of study hall, provided there are available seats in that particular course.
¨ An incorrect level of a course was scheduled.
¨ A course requested was canceled due to low enrollment.
¨ A student passed a course in summer school and needs to add another course to his/her schedule.
¨ A student has registered for a sequence course and has failed the prerequisite course.
¨ A change in level (AP, Honors, Academic) after a conference is held with the counselor and the level change is approved by the parent/guardian.
