Woodstown High School has been awarded a matching funds grant through the Brain Injury Association of New Jersey to begin preseason baseline concussion testing. This testing, known as ImPact, will be utilized with the contact sports beginning in August/2007. Any athlete participating in a non-contact sport is welcome to participate.
Baseline testing involves a 15-20 minute computerized activity that is in a “video-game” type format. This information with be confidential and stored in a secure server. If a student sustains a concussion during athletic participation they will be retested in order to determine the extent of their symptoms. ImPact provides information regarding the severity of injury and a standard for evaluating recovery from a concussion.
When an athlete is retested a report will be generated that can be taken to the student’s family physician in order to assist them in determining if the student has completely recovered from the injury. The last day to submit applications will be August 4, 2008

Spring Sports Awards will take place on Wednesday, June 4th at 7:00 PM in the Auditorium
