FBLA & The Student Store
About Us:
The Future Business Leaders of America Club (FBLA) is in its 7th year of existence at Woodstown High School. The students who join this club are active members of the Woodstown community who have an interest in working in the business world in the future. The student's biggest project is running out school and community store, The Student Store. Mrs. Katy Lynch and Mrs. Becky Haines are the advisors of FBLA and The Student Store. This is Mrs. Lynch's 4th year as advisor and Mrs. Haines' 3rd year. They both thoroughly enjoy working with the WHS students are are excited about taking FBLA and The Student Store to new heights!
The Student Store:
The WHS Student Store services primarily Woodstown High School, but we also provide services for Woodstown community members, alumni, and students elementary and middle school. Though the store has been up and running for many years, we have seen a recent boom in business over the past three years. Last year, we sold more items than in the past three years combined! Mrs. Lynch designs all of the items in conjunction with a local graphic designer, so everything is original! We have also had our own students design clothing for our store as well. We can customize designs for your Woodstown based team or business by request.

FBLA Competitions
Each winter and spring, the students compete in regional and state events. The topics range from Accounting and Economics to Marketing, Word Processing and even Digital Video Production. Students who place in the regional competition each year move onto the state competition, where they are competing against top students from across New Jersey. We are proud to announce that we have had students place in regionals year and have even had some students place at the state level where they move on to compete nationally. Below is a picture of our 2012 FBLA State Competitors. Pictured from the left: Julian Chismar, Mario Catalano, Matt Simmermon, and Dan Love.
School and Community Involvement:
Our students are not only involved in competing, but they truly value helping their school and community right here in Woodstown. For several years, the WHS FBLA has assisted the guidance and physical education department with Career Day. They have shadowed and escorted community business members around the school while those members discussed their careers and local businesses to the WHS students. Students have also helped with the annual Holiday Expo and been involved in class reunions and the Woodstown Fall Festival. Our students are open to more community involvement activities, particularly those who educate and involve local and larger businesses or corporations.
Fundraisers:
The students have a variety of fundrasiers through out the year. Of course, our biggest fundraiser is selling items in The Student Store. In the past, we have done the Prom Fashion Show. In 2011-2012, we participated in two new fundraisers. One of our own homegrown FLA students is an up and coming entrepreneur. Edward Trey Smith sold his own coffee mug candles for Christmas and they were a huge hit! We also put on the first ever Minute to Win It competition. It was a ton of fun for all who participated and we distributed some fabulous prizes thanks to the generous donations of many local businesses!
